In the midst of World War I, new recruit Pierre finds himself on the front line. There he meets Francis, who is staging a play and thus opens up a whole new world to Pierre. What begins as a temporary escape from the harsh reality of the trenches soon blossoms into a tender love story. The director and the lead actors – Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne, who shared the Best Actor award in Cannes – will be introducing the film in person. After the screening, guests from both venues (Betonhalle and Arsenal) are invited to a cocktail hour with live music in the foyer of the Betonhalle.
